It’s all about peace of mind.
Why should you perform dryer vent cleaning? Dryer vent cleanings can remove lint buildup in the vent to improve its efficiency & protect your family from potentially dangerous fires.
According to the U.S. Fire Administration’s National Fire Data Center, clothes dryers are responsible for approximately 15,600 structure fires around the country each year.
Eighty percent of these fires start with clogged dryer vents & result in up to 15 deaths & 400 injuries on average & cost $35 million dollars in damages annually. Thousands of other home occupants are treated for symptoms of poisonous gas fumes that back up into the home due to blocked dryer vents.
How to Tell If your Dryer Vent Is Clogged
Excess Dry Times
One of the first signs that your dryer vent is clogged is when your clothes are no longer fully drying during a regular dry cycle of 30 to 40 minutes per load. If your dryer vent is clogged, your clothes will take longer to dry because the blocked dryer vent is trapping the air & keeping your clothes hot & moist. If you remove your clothes from the dryer after a normal cycle & they still feel damp, this means it’s time to get your dryer vent cleaned out.
Burning Smell
If you’ve noticed a burnt odor coming from your dryer whenever you have a load going, it is most likely because your dryer vent is clogged, it’s having to work extra hard to dry your clothes. That means it’s overworking & creating that burnt smell.
Hot Exterior
A dryer is functioned to exhaust the heat & moisture while it’s drying. If that heat & moisture are not able to leave the dryer, then the dryer basically continues to work but can no longer keep up with the drying. Because of the excessive amount of heat buildup, this causes your dryer to overheat & can ultimately ignite a fire.
Sizable Lint
When you clean your lint filter, you might notice an excessive amount of lint each time you clean it out. You may even notice a large amount of lint accumulating on the outside of the lint filter & around your dryer & laundry room. If you notice one or more of these issues, please contact us immediately.
